Six semi-finalists selected for Proctor superintendent position

Proctor, MN — The Proctor Public School Board unanimously selected six semi-finalists to interview for the school district’s superintendent position. The semi-finalists are:

John Awsumb, Principal, Proctor Public Schools, MN

Dr. Catherine Gillach, Associate Superintendent, Grand Forks Public Schools, ND

Adam Holm, Executive Director of Community Education, Saint Cloud Area Schools, MN

Jennifer Larva, Director of Secondary Education, Duluth Public Schools, MN

Dr. Michael Neubeck, Superintendent, Byron Public Schools, MN

Timothy Rohweder, High School Principal, Proctor Public Schools, MN

The semi-finalists were selected from a pool of 12 applicants based on criteria established by the school board, as well as survey input provided by Proctor Public Schools staff and members of the public.

The school board has scheduled interviews for the semi-finalists beginning at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, March 12th & 13th, 2025.

All interviews will be held at the Black Woods Event Center and are open to the public. To ensure a level playing field for all candidates the interviews will not be livestreamed or recorded.

The School Board of Proctor Public Schools is conducting a search for a new superintendent. The School Board contracted with the Minnesota School Boards Association (MSBA) to guide and provide assistance throughout the process. 

The School Board met on December 16, 2024, to plan the search. An important part of the search process is gathering input for the Board to consider as it moves forward in selecting the new superintendent, and here are two ways you can engage in the search process: 

1.      SUPERINTENDENT SEARCH SURVEY

An anonymous public survey was available for all interested parties to fill out between December 23 and January 12, 2025.

2.      VIRTUAL QUESTION/ANSWER SESSION WITH MSBA

To ensure all constituents in the district have access to accurate information regarding search processes and expectations, MSBA will host a virtual Q & A with MSBA at 4:00 pm on Friday, January 3. All interested individuals are invited to attend the live session; however, to accommodate busy schedules as well as ensure access to search information, the session will also be recorded and made available on the district website for the remainder of the search.
